I’ve long heard the rumblings of people complaining about the high fees that come with selling on eBay, but as someone who rarely sells anyone I hadn’t been stung by the fees. Then, one day I popped up a card on eBay with a $225 BIN price. It sold in a few hours and I was thrilled. . . until I got the fee statement — it was around $27! Talk about sticker shock.
After listing to more people complain about the fees, the requirement to use Paypal, the way that Paypal handles accounts, etc I decided to see if the community was really fed up with eBay and built an alternative:
I call it TheCardMarket. The name is simple, and the function is simple, it gets buyers and sellers together so they can buy and sell the way that they want to. Right now it is a free service, I’m planning, in early 2012, to implement a minimal fee structure so that the site becomes self sustaining. So, please check out TheCardMarket.com and let me know what you think. I’m still building and enhancing the site, and tons of cards still need to be added to the database, but it’s fully functional so give it a try . . . and tell your friends!
Happy Buying and Selling!
Jon

Thanks for setting it up, I like it a lot. But does need a link on the main page to leave suggestions, get answers, or somewhere you can ask questions.
