Inertia — according to Webster: 1 a: a property of matter by which it remains at rest or in uniform motion in the same straight line unless acted upon by some external force.
Yes indeed. . . inertia. In this case a website that remains at rest seemingly indefinitely, but those folks from the film Field of Dreams were right — if you build it they will come, and despite not touching this site in over a year I just checked the stats, and people still come.
So that’s cool. . .
The inertia didn’t stop at the website though. My collection was hampered by it too — sure I kept clicking on eBay and paying with Paypal (I’d prefer another great non-sport card buying option, but right now they are few and far between), but my lists of what I have became insanely out dated. Stacks of various base cards covered nearly every flat surface in my office, and trading totally stopped for a long time.
The good news. . . the site is getting updated right now. . . I’ve gone through stacks of chase cards and actually updated my lists, and I’ve scrubbed off a lot of the rust and have started trading again through a forum I joined. Now I’m looking to get back into this (trading and writing) aspect of the hobby more. . .
Please bear with me a tiny bit longer until I can get trade lists posted, and actually start writing again. . . it’ll be more of a blog format this time. . . but more on that later.
Ohh. . . and I’m allowing comments. . . if I get too much spam I’ll turn it off, but we’ll give it a try. . .
Happy Collecting!
Jon
