Technical Difficulties are Technically Difficult. . .

Filed under: Chicago Comic Con: 2012 — webjon @ 9:55 pm

As with every year I am shocked at how quickly Wizard World is knocking on the door. . . Here we are less than a month away already — yikes! I’m very amped for the show this year, I keep checking www.wizardworld.com/home-ch.html for the updated dealer list, but I already know that Junior’s and Dave Moulder will be attending — sweet! I’m not even going to talk about the guest list — it’s amazing. . . but with all this excitement I didn’t want to get stuck with the technical difficulties that I had at C2E2. . .

I’ve managed to figure out why my WordPress App wouldn’t properly upload pictures. . . it took some doing, but with a little help from some online forums I determined that my web host is running an outdated version of a PHP library. . . thankfully there is a workaround. . . I’ve installed the workaround and tested it, so I should be able to photoblog live from Chicago Comic Con 2012! Keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned!

Unsigned Walking Dead

Filed under: Cryptozoic — webjon @ 8:35 pm

I think this is the first unsigned Cryptozoic card I’ve seen floating around out there. A poster on Blowout Cards forum said three of these came from a friend of a friend direct from Norman Reedus.

Note the unsigned card does not have a Cryptozoic hologram on the back. . .

Keep an eye out for these, if there are three there must be more, and I have no doubt they’ll show up signed at some point. . . hopefully they are actually signed by Reedus and not a forger out there.

Questionable Batman and Robin autograph cards. . .

Filed under: Skybox — webjon @ 5:28 pm

A couple of collectors on Blowout Cards forum www.blowoutcards.com/forums/) pointed out these killer autographs of Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze and Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl autographs from the Skybox Batman and Robin set. At least, these would be killer autographs if they were legitimate.

At a quick glance they don’t look bad, but on closer examination the signatures just aren’t right. The ink is a bit off in the pen, there isn’t feathering, there are autopen dots. . .

There isn’t a smoking gun that I like to have before posting about these sorts of things, and I am sure there were be doubters out there. . . but do your research before jumping on these and I’m sure you will have doubts in your mind.
